Items Needed:

  • Dog Bandana Pattern Piece (located at the end of the instructions)
    • Depending on the size of your dog the amount of fabric will change
    • Approximately expect to use a quarter to half a yard of cotton fabric
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine
Step 1: Cut out fabric, so you have two full pieces of the bandana. There are two ways to do this with the pattern piece. You can cut out one pattern piece and cut out the pattern twice on a folded edge, or cut out two pattern pieces and place this on two layers of the fabric. The pattern piece labels a side A, side B, and a side C which will be referred to in the pattern.

Step 2: Pin the bandana pieces right sides together, and sew from the first mark to the second mark. At the end you should have a hole for turning the bandana.
Step 3: Turn the bandana right side out.
Step 4: Optional: Iron bandana for a crisper look.
Step 5: Fold the top of the bandana (side A) down an inch and pin.
Step 5: Sew across the top of the bandana, about an inch down, so there is a loop. This is where the collar will loop through.
Step 6: Optional: Top stitch sides B and C if you want to give the bandana a more polished look. I did not do this step.

Step 7: Put the bandana on your dog's collar, and let your dog wear it!
